About the CCP...

The Calhoun Choral Program (CCP) is the Bellmore/ Merrick Central High School District's largest music program.

The program, comprised of close to 200 14-18 year old students, is one of the largest school choral organizations on Long Island. The CCP consists of 3 groups. Many students belong to more than one group.

The Calhoun Choral Program is under the direction of Mr. Sanford Sardo. The Assoc. Director/ Choreographer of "Crescendo" is Ms. Jennifer Gaylor.

The objectives of the Calhoun Choral Program are: to provide for its members opportunities to improve their musical abilities, to encourage school and community spirit through public performance, to learn about music through the performance of literature of all styles (classical, contemporary, gospel, popular, jazz, multi-cultural, etc.), to experience music as an important aesthetic aspect of life, and to promote leadership, friendship, fairness, reasoning, teamwork, responsibility, dedication, loyalty, and respect.

The CCP curriculum includes opportunities for students to exercise their potential not only as musicians, but as complete human beings.
