About the CCP...
The Calhoun Choral Program (CCP) is one of the Bellmore/Merrick Central High School District's largest music programs. Located on the south shore of Long Island, New York, the CCP consists of 3 ensembles. Many students belong to more than one group.
The objectives of the Calhoun Choral Program are: to provide for its members opportunities to improve their musical abilities, to encourage school and community spirit through public performance, to learn about music through the performance of literature of all styles (classical, contemporary, gospel, popular, jazz, multi-cultural, etc.), to experience music as an important aesthetic aspect of life, and to promote leadership, friendship, fairness, reasoning, teamwork, responsibility, dedication, loyalty, and respect.
The CCP curriculum includes opportunities for students to exercise their potential not only as musicians, but as complete human beings.
